Gangwon-do is a province of South Korea, with its capital at Chuncheon. Geographically elongated north and south, Gangwon-do is in the Korean peninsula's central eastern region. About 82% of the land is mountainous. The eastern region runs along the coast, the western region lies face-to-face with Seoul, and the southern part is connected to another inland region.
